Woman pleads guilty to charges in 2022 head-on crash that seriously injured 3

A woman accused of drugged driving in a December 2022 head-on crash in Washington Twp. that seriously injured three people faces a dozen years in prison.

Brittany Anne Stewart, 33, of Washington Twp., pleaded guilty Wednesday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court to one count of felonious assault and two counts of vehicular assault, and a misdemeanor OVI count via a bill of information, according to plea documents.

She also will lose her license for between one and five years when she is sentenced Aug. 14, records show.

Stewart was charged connected to a crash just before 11:30 a.m. Dec. 11, 2022. She was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Impala east on West Spring Valley Pike near South Normandy Lane when she crossed the center line and crashed into a 2001 Lexus RX driving in the opposite direction, according to a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office crash report.

The driver of the Lexus, a 64-year-old Washington Twp. man, as well as his two passengers, an 88-year-old Centerville man and his 87-year-old wife, each suffered serious injuries. The driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville, and the passengers were taken to Kettering Health Main Campus.

Stewart was taken to Kettering Health Main Campus with minor injuries.

Her driver’s license was suspended at the time of the crash, and she tested positive for cocaine in her system, according to her indictment.
